  • Wilson plays 5 to 6 octaves on the tenor saxophone (which normally reaches only 2 ½ octaves)
  • Pioneered the use of multiphonics on reed instruments and uses them with fluidity and harmonic sophistication
  • Composed over 100 pieces, beginning in 1962
